The Left’s new hero: Barney Frank
Peskyfly Chris Davis has found himself a “hero” in Rep. Barney Frank, the contemptible politician who has been and remains behind many of the worst bills ever formed in Congress.
Rep. Frank is the one who in July 2008 assured us that government-sponsored mortgage lenders Fannie and Freddie were “fundamentally sound” and would be “solid” investments going forward.
So what did Barney Frank do to become the new hero of Davis, his pal Jen S. and others on the Left?
It seems Rep. Frank summoned the courage to shout insults at a young Lyndon LaRouche disciple who spoke at his town hall and asked Frank why he supports a “Nazi policy.” LaRouche, by the way, is a far-Left Democrat and perennial presidential candidate who also compared President Bush’s policies to those of Nazi Germany.
I’m not sure how heroic one must be to call out those who lend support to Godwin’s law with all-too-frequent, hyperbolic references to Adolf Hitler, but I suppose someone had to say it (hadn’t it been said already?).
But the irony is that Davis has been no stranger to Godwin’s law himself, comparing President Bush to Hitler early and often at his loathsome group blog The Flypaper Theory, an unofficial Memphis Flyer offshoot (where you’ll find another crudely photoshopped image of a politician as the Joker). I’ve often sparred in the blogosphere with Davis and friends, who once said they “insult Hitler by comparing him to Bush.”
If he had any integrity, Rep. Frank would extend the same rebuke to his new fans. Now that would be heroic.
UPDATE: Memphis Flyer Editor Bruce VanWyngarden re-tweeted the post by Davis calling Rep. Frank his hero and adds, “Textbook on how to handle nuts.” Has he taken a look around the office lately?

That doggone internet and all those dang past posts and search engines making it impossible for those guys to hide from history and hypocrisy.
Mick — how dare you use their own words against them!
BTW – the funny thing is that even Bill Maher acknowledged the LaRouche angle on his show the other night, lamenting at what he referred to as the unholy alliance between the radical right and left on this issue.
People on the left need to take credit for their own nutjobs!
We need a Hitler flowchart anymore.
